Murder charge dropped against Texas woman arrested for ‘self-induced abortion’

A murder charge against a Texas woman who allegedly had a "self-induced abortion" has been dropped after a district attorney in the state said she had not committed a criminal act under the law.

The case has caused outrage among abortion advocates, who view the charge as just another example of Texas trying to limit women's access to the medical procedure.

Man found guilty of murdering British MP Sir David Amess

A 26-year-old man has been found guilty of the murder of British MP Sir David Amess.


Ali Harbi Ali from Leighton-on-Sea, Essex, was found to have fatally stabbed him 20 times at a constituency surgery in October last year.


He has also been found guilty of preparing acts of terrorism and claimed the attack was carried out to prevent the MP from "harming Muslims" in Syria.
