US Senate votes to end twice yearly clock changes

The US Senate has voted to end the twice yearly changing of clocks.


The Sunshine Protection Act would make daylight saving time permanent in the US.


But it must be approved by the House of Representatives and then the president before it becomes law.

After 6 years, Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe has been freed by Iran

British-Iranian aid worker Nazanin Zaghari Ratcliffe is on a plane flying home to the UK from Iran after being detained by the authorities in Tehran for 6 years,


The British government has confirmed that it paid the Iranians 400 million pounds to clear what officials in London call a debt owed after the former authorities in Iran paid for British tanks that the UK then never provided after the country's Islamic revolution.

British citizen, Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, returning to UK after 6 years of detainment in Iran

Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, a British Iranian who has been detained in Iran for 6 years, is on her way back to the UK.


She was accused of plotting to overthrow the Iranian government.


Earlier this week she was given her passport back after it was taken away from her in 2016.


Her Member of Parliament Tulip Siddiq says this could have been helped along by some form of a payment of a multimillion-pound debt owed to Iran from the British Government
