A British MP has resigned amid a row over his conduct which led to a major government u-turn.
Owen Paterson was found to have "egregiously" broken lobbying rules and was facing suspension, until his Conservative Party colleagues controversially blocked it.
Downing Street then reversed its decision to block the suspension following a furious backlash.
Mr Paterson says he now wants a life "outside the cruel world of politics," and there'll be a by-election to replace him in his constituency, which he's represented since 1997.
