WORLD LEADERS SIGN DEFORESTATION PLEDGE

More than 100 world leaders at Cop26 in Glasgow are signing up to an agreement to halt and reverse deforestation by 2030.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson says it'll support the goal of restricting global warming to 1.5 celsius because forests absorb carbon emissions.

Environmentalists say previous pledges on deforestation have not been followed through.

UK Environment Secretary George Eustice says this deal comes with important signatories and around $20bn in funding.
