With lockdown measures being implemented across Australia, the number of locally acquired covid cases continues to rise in the state of New South Wales.

The Ethiopian government has rejected urgent appeals from aid organizations to airdrop food supplies into the northern region Tigray- this as troops across Ethiopia say they are ready to mobilize against Tigray.
The government has also blocked direct flights from outside Ethiopia to the region. The ongoing conflict has sparked a dire humanitarian crisis.

Travel firms have criticised the UK government's decision to move a number of summer holiday destinations to the amber travel list just two weeks after they were placed in a lower risk category. Thousands of people booked summer holidays to the likes of Majorca and Ibiza after being told they wouldn't need to quarantine on return - but from Monday they'll face tougher restrictions if they want to go there.
