EU launches legal proceedings against Hungary and Poland over LGBT rights clampdown

The European Union is unveiling legal proceedings against Hungary and Poland over their crackdown on LGBT rights. 

The EU's executive has sent letters of formal notice to both countries, the last step before a case at the European Court of Justice. 

The action comes in the wake of a new law in Hungary that bans the promotion of homosexuality to minors.

UK PM plans 'levelling-up' agenda, investing in poorer areas to rebalance economy

Boris Johnson has promised to "level-up" the UK, rebalancing the economy and regenerating deprived regions. 


In a speech in Coventry, in the heart of the country, the Prime Minister committed to investing in transport links in eight cities to make them "as good as London's."

Cholera outbreak in Nigeria worsens


Nigeria is recording increasing cases of Cholera in different parts of the country.

Over 1,500 cases were reported by health officials in one week alone in the month of June suggesting an outbreak amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

A major review for the UK government is calling for a tax on sugary and salty food products - and the prescription of vegetables.

White House launches program to relocate Afghans who helped US

The White House is launching a new program to relocate Afghan nationals who helped the US during it's 20-year long war in the country.

Operation Allies Refuge will provide flights to eligible Afghan nationals and their families starting at the end of this month.

Those eligible will need to apply or already be part of a special visa programme.
