Dutch crime journalist fighting for his life in hospital after shooting

A dutch crime journalist is fighting for his life after being shot in Amsterdam. 

Peter R. De Vries had been in a TV studio for a regular TV appearance before being targeted.

The 64-year is famous in The Netherlands for his work exposing crime syndicates, and has helped police solve a number of high-profile cases.

Australia - Government to enlist big business to ramp up vaccine rollout

The Australian government has met with more than 30 corporate business leaders with a view to ramping up the country's covid vaccine rollout.


Sydneys lockdown has been extended for another week after 27 new cases of community transmission were discovered in the past 24 hours, while other locations across the country are easing their latest restrictions as positive tests decrease.

Veteran Indian actor Dilip Kumar dies at 98

US Gun Violence: July 4th weekend shootings kill nearly 190

Gun violence is on the rise in America.


Nearly 190 people were killed and about 550 injured in gun shootings over the long July 4th weekend, in the three days from Saturday through Monday.

No isolation after close contact with case for fully vaccinated, says UK Health Sec

Fully vaccinated people in England won't have to self-isolate after coming into close contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19. 


Currently, they would have to quarantine for 10 days. 


But the UK's Health Secretary has announced this rule would end on 16th August, including for under-18s.

Hackers demand $70m to unlock 1000s of businesses

Changes to isolation rules for vaccinated people and school pupils in England

28 killed in Russian passenger plane crash

26 students rescued, more than 100 abducted from school in Nigeria


At least 26 students have been rescued while over a hundred remain missing after gunmen attacked a school in Kaduna, northwest Nigeria.

Germany relaxes travel restrictions for UK and four other countries
