A further easing of coronavirus restrictions in England is expected to be announced - as the government continues along its so-called roadmap out of lockdown. UK TO EASE LOCKDOWN

The UK is set to further ease Covid-19 lockdown measures due to positive data on the virus.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson will announce later that indoor hospitality and household mixing can resume next Monday in England.

People will be allowed to meet in groups of up to 30 outdoors, and pubs and restaurants will be able to reopen indoor service.

Health minister Nadine Dorries says it's good news.

Hong Kong government urged to boost COVID-19 vaccination rate

6 people fatally shot at birthday party in Colorado Springs

Six people have been fatally shot at a birthday party in Colorado Springs.

Police say the suspect is believed to be the boyfriend of one of the victims and turned his gun on himself.

Japan to ramp up vaccines as COVID cases rise

Biden endorses Ardern's "Christchurch Call To Action" on violent online content

The White House has announced that the United States is endorsing the Christchurch Call to Action aimed at eliminating terrorist and violence extremist content online.


The White House press secretary said the Biden administration will now participate in the Christchurch Call's virtual summit in just a week's time.

WHO APPROVES SINOPHARM COVID-19 VACCINE FOR EMERGENCY USE

U.S. jobs growth falls well short of expectations in April

Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine becomes first to be assessed for full approval by US drug makers

The COVID-19 vaccine-maker Pfizer/ BioNTech has begun the process of applying for full approval from US drug regulators.

It’s the first COVID-19 vaccine to be assessed for full- not just emergency- endorsement from the US Food and Drug Administration.

Under 40s in UK to be offered alternative to AZ jab

Most adults in the UK under the age of 40 will now be offered an alternative to the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, due to a link with rare blood clots.

Conservatives triumph over Labour in historic UK by-election victory

Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Conservative Party has won a crucial by-election in the north of England.


Its candidate recorded a convincing victory in Hartlepool, a seat that had been held by Labour since the constituency was formed nearly 50 years ago. 


It's a huge blow to Labour's Sir Keir Starmer in his first election test since taking over as leader.


The vote was held as millions of ballots were also cast for the Scottish and Welsh Parliaments, as well as councils and mayoralties across England, with results expected over the coming days.

German Parliament approves vaccine privileges law

The UK Conservative Party of Boris Johnson has won a crucial by-election in the north of England.

The Conservatives have won the seat of Hartlepool, which has been held by the Labour Party for its entire existence.

It's a major blow for Labour leader Keir Starmer.

Millions of people voted in the UK on Thursday in a series of local, regional, and Mayoral elections.

The new MP for Hartlepool Jill Mortimer spoke after winning a majority of nearly 7000 votes.
