Japan to ramp up vaccines as COVID cases rise

Under 40s in UK to be offered alternative to AZ jab

Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Conservative Party has won a crucial by-election in the north of England.
Its candidate recorded a convincing victory in Hartlepool, a seat that had been held by Labour since the constituency was formed nearly 50 years ago.
It's a huge blow to Labour's Sir Keir Starmer in his first election test since taking over as leader.
The vote was held as millions of ballots were also cast for the Scottish and Welsh Parliaments, as well as councils and mayoralties across England, with results expected over the coming days.
