Senior German MP warns of violence in response to prolonged lockdown

The Covid-19 situation in Germany continues to improve, with the latest data showing average case numbers are at a 4 month low.

The falling infection rate is causing some German lawmakers to call for the country's strict lockdown measures to end early, with concerns that prolonging the restrictions could cause violence.

Death toll rises in Himalayan disaster in Uttarakhand

The death toll in a flash flood in north India which happened over a week ago has risen to more than 50.

CAF cancels Angola match as Tanzanian players quarantined

CDC: Vaccinating Teachers NOT a Prerequisite

DRC EBOLA CASES RISE

Authorities in the Democratic Republic of Congo have detected a third case of Ebola in the eastern province of North Kivu.

Avian Influenza "Bird flu' detected again in Nigeria


The Nigerian government has confirmed the resurgence of Avian Influenza commonly called bird fly which is a highly contagious viral infection of birds in the country.

Nigeria was the first country in Africa to detect bird flu, in 2006 and 2007.

Trump lawyers to state their case in speedy defense

Explosion at firecracker factory in south India, at least 11 dead

UK GDP experiences worst slump ever

UK GDP had its worst annual slump on record, falling by 9.9% in 2020 according to the Office for National Statistics.

UK QUARANTINE HOTEL BOOKING SYSTEM REMAINS OFFLINE

The hotel booking system UK citizens must use to reserve government-imposed quarantine stays still isn't operating. 


The portal - which went offline soon after launching - is the only way arrivals from thirty-three countries can book accommodation required under regulations that come into force on Monday. The UK government says it's a 'technical issue'.

Indian state asks to halt the country's homegrown vaccine till trials are complete

A state in India has asked the federal government to halt the supply of Covaxin, which is India's indigenous COVID 19 vaccine.

Covaxin is still undergoing its third phase of clinical trials, but the Indian government authorised it for use in the country's COVID 19 inoculation drive.

Germany to introduce border checks for Austria and Czech Republic

Manned checkpoints will be set up on Germany's border this weekend to help slow the spread of new Covid-19 variants.
