Australia – Coronavirus travel restrictions leaving Australians stuck in the outback
People from the Australian state of Victoria are driving thousands of kilometres through the outback via the historic Queensland town of Birdsville, to avoid coronavirus restrictions.
Border restrictions limiting travel between Queensland and New South Wales has led to some stranded Victorians to attempt the 4000 kilometre drive via the town, which is located on the edge of the Simpson desert in the far west of the state.

Hong Kong democracy campaigners call for sanctions on China
Democracy campaigners in Hong Kong are calling for international sanctions against Beijing, following the mass arrest of more than 50 activists and former lawmakers.
The US, UK and EU have condemned the arrests, but campaigners say tougher measures are needed to make any difference.

Twitter Bans Trump
Facebook, Twitter and YouTube have taken down a video in which President Trump addressed his supporters as a mob of pro-Trump protesters stormed the US Capitol. The social media sites say the video contributed to ongoing violence and violated misinformation policies. Twitter then went one step further and locked the president's account.

Lawmakers Set to Return to Capitol to Resume Vote Count
The US Capitol has been secured after an angry mob loyal to president Trump stormed and entered the building, forcing congressional leaders to hide for their own safety, and leading to one protestor being shot and killed by security forces.
Now, Congress is set to return and continue counting the electoral college votes which will confirm Joe Biden as the next president.
