Covid-19 lockdown begins again in parts of UK

People across much of the UK must now stay at home under new coronavirus restrictions, starting Tuesday, following a rapid rise in coronavirus cases. 


In a televised address, Prime Minister Boris Johnson warned the coming weeks would be the "hardest yet" as he imposed the third national lockdown in less than a year.

New York reports first case of highly contagious Covid-19 strain

New York has confirmed its first case of a highly contagious strain of
Covid-19 that was discovered in the United Kingdom. It's now the
fourth U.S. state to do so.

Last month New York's Governor Andrew Cuomo pushed for tougher travel
restrictions from the UK and for labs to ramp up testing for this new
virus variant.
