Vaccines could be given to Americans in December

US markets weekahead: rising Covid numbers, vaccines news, jobs data and consumer confidence

In the week ahead on Wall Street, investors will be hedging positive developments on the Covid-19 vaccine front against the second wave of the pandemic, as rates of infection, hospitalisations and deaths spike across the country.

Pfizer and BioNTech seeking emergency FDA approval, as US deaths hit nearly 2000 a day

Emergency approval for the COVID-19 vaccine developed by drug company partners Pfizer and BioNTech, is under review by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

UK BORROWING HITS NEW RECORD

UK government borrowing was £22.3bn ($29.57) in October, the highest figure for the month since records began.

It takes borrowing for this tax year so far to £214.9bn ($285bn), which is £169.1bn more than the same period for in the previous year.
