Hollywood actor Johnny Depp loses 'wife beater' libel case in London court

Johnny Depp has lost a libel case against the Sun after the British newspaper alleged that he beat his former wife Amber Heard. 


The court in London also refused to award the Hollywood actor compensation for damage to his reputation following the trial.

New lockdown comes into force in Belgium

A new lockdown is coming into force in Belgium for six weeks as Covid-19 case numbers surge.

BORIS JOHNSON TO WARN OF COVID SECOND WAVE DANGER

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson will say there is 'no alternative' to a new national lockdown for England, when he delivers a statement to the House of Commons later (1530GMT approx).

He'll tell MPs coronavirus-related deaths could be twice as high during the second wave, compared to the first peak.

Biden and Trump in sprint to the finish in final campaign push

U.S. President Donald Trump spent the weekend stoking fears he will challenge the result of the presidential election, as the number of early voters surpassed record levels.


Both candidates have spent the last three days in a race to clinch votes:  President Trump was on a five-stop final campaign tour on Sunday from Michigan to Iowa, North Carolina, Georgia and Florida. Meanwhile, his rival, Joe Biden, doubled down on Pennsylvania.

Tanzania Presidential Election Results

Tanzania's incumbent President John Pombe Magufuli has emerged victorious in the country's presidential race.This was revealed by the National Electoral Commission chairperson has announced that he now begins the second 5 year term. 

 

This comes as the main  opposition candidate Tundu Lissu rejected early results of Tanzania's presidential and parliamentary election, saying the vote was illegitimate due to fraud.
