UK GOVERNMENT TO LAUNCH BACK TO WORK CAMPAIGN

British people will be encouraged to go back to their offices as part of a new UK government campaign.


The move comes after business leaders warned of the damage being done to city centres as people continue to work from home.

Face masks are now mandatory everywhere in the French capital.


The restrictions previously only listed specific streets and outdoor areas but the surge in cases has prompted authorities to make face coverings compulsory in all areas of the city centre and the wider Paris capital region, as Ross Cullen reports.

France sees second-highest day of new coronavirus cases since start of outbreak

The French health authorities have announced another post-lockdown record of new coronavirus cases.


6,111 new infections were registered in 24 hours, which is the second-highest daily rate since the start of the outbreak in France.

Uganda Locksdown Refugee Settlement Over COVID-19 Cases.

Trump attacks rival Biden in Convention Speech

India sees record spike of more than 77,000 new COVID-19 infections

India has reported another record spike in COVID-19 infections. More than 77,000 people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, as per data released on Friday.

Experts say this is the biggest single-day spike recorded by any country since the pandemic started.

Walmart joins Microsoft in TikTok Bid

The American retail giant Walmart says it is joining Microsoft in its bid to purchase the popular video sharing app Tik Tok.


Tik Tok, which is owned by the Chinese company Byte Dance, is expected to sell to an American buyer in order to continue its US operations because of pressure from the Trump administration.

3 KENYAN PLANES BANNED FROM TANZANIAN AIR SPACE

Three more Kenyan airlines have been banned in Tanzania as the two countries' apparent standoff over management of the Covid-19 pandemic continues. The Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority issued the ban against AirKenya Express, Fly540, and Safarilink Aviation. This comes as China just released a statement requiring all travelers from Tanzania to obtain a negative COVID-19 certificate before entering the country.
