Consumer spending in focus on Wall Street in the week ahead [PREVIEW]

U.S. Postal Chief testifies before Congress

A political row over how Americans will vote in November's
presidential election escalated on Friday, after the country's postal
chief was grilled by U.S. lawmakers on Capitol Hill.

Postmaster General, Louis DeJoy- who is a Republican donor and has
only occupied the job since June- insisted that his agency was fully
committed to handling mail-in votes, and denied trying to influence
the election.

Democrats have accused him of deliberately trying to delay postal
votes- deemed essential to voting in a pandemic.

GHANA-NIGERIA Trade dispute resurfaces as Ghana government locks up foreign owned shops

In Ghana, hundreds of Nigerian traders are protesting against the closure of their shops in the capital Accra.

The government has shut down over 100 stores run by Nigerians while enforcing a law which bars foreigners from engaging in the retail trade.

But the Nigerian traders claim the action goes against the Economic Community Of West African States (ECOWAS) protocol that allows them to trade in Ghana.

Libya ceasefire praised by United Nations

Rival authorities in Libya have announced a ceasefire in a move
supported by the United Nations.

Uganda to Lock down its Capital Over Rising COVID-19 Cases

The EU's chief Brexit negotiator, Michel Barnier, says he's "disappointed" after little progress was made in the latest round of negotiations.


The EU and UK are trying to forge a new trade deal with each other.


The UK's already left the EU, but is temporarily trading on the same terms.


That all changes at the end of the year when the so-called "transition period" ends. And both sides say they want to arrange a deal well before that deadline.


But Mr Barnier says the UK's showing 'no willingness' to compromise.

African Union Suspends Mali
