A statue of an African-American anti-slavery campaigner has been
pulled down in New York State.

Broadway actor Nick Cordero dies from coronavirus at 41

Broadway actor Nick Cordero has died after spending months in intensive care suffering complications from coronavirus.


The 41-year-old was nominated for a Tony for his role in Bullets Over Broadway and appeared in Waitress and A Bronx Tale.

EU Commission refuses to apologise after accusations of meddling in Croatia's elections

The President of the European Commission has been reported to the bloc's ombudsman, after being accused of meddling in the affairs of an EU member state. 

Ursula von Der Leyen appeared in a video posted on social media, in which she expressed her support for the ruling party in Croatia's national election.

Ghana’s President in isolation over COVID-19 fears.

Ghana's President Nana Akufo-Addo is in self-isolation after coming into contact with at least one person within his close circle who has tested positive for Covid-19. The President is taking a 14-day precautionary self-isolation measure in compliance with Covid-19 protocols. Ghana's number of infections of the coronavirus is now over 20,000.

Paris's Louvre museum partially re-opens after 16-week closure

The Louvre, the world's most-visited museum, is re-opening to the public today/on Monday, after a 16-week shutdown due to the pandemic.


Visitors will have to book online, wear a mask and follow strict directions inside the museum, which is keeping a third of its collection closed off for now.

Ugandan Police Arrest Over 100 Suspected Allied Democratic Forces Recruits

Ugandan police have raided a suspected terror cell belonging to the  Allied Democratic Forces or ADF in the central district of Mpigi.

Over 100 suspected rebels attached to the  ADF militia group were arrested and are now in Police custody.

The ADF terrorist group that has its roots in Western Uganda is now operating in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

£1.5BN UK THEATRE BAILOUT

The UK government's announced a £1.57 ($2bn) bail-out for the theatre and cultural sector.

It's designed to support key performing arts venues and jobs.
