IBUPROFEN TREATMENT BEING TRIALLED IN LONDON HOSPITAL

Ibuprofen is being tested as a treatment for patients with COVID-19 at St Thomas' hospital in London.

That's the same hospital which treated Prime Minister Boris Johnson when he had coronavirus.

It's hoped the drug will help patients struggling with breathing difficulties.

Trump, Modi discuss India's border stand-off with China

US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on the phone and discussed India's ongoing border stand-off with China.

This comes days after Donald Trump claimed that he'd spoken to Mr. Modi on the issue only to have the Indian government rebuff the American President's claims.

UK SETS OUT QUARANTINE FOR INTERNATIONAL TRAVELLERS

The UK government is setting out details of a controversial 14-day quarantine for all international arrivals from next week.

It insists the move can help guard against Covid-19 starting to spread more quickly again.

AUSTRALIA: Nation falls into recession - but Treasurer lauds the result

Australia's Treasurer Josh Frydenberg says the economic downturn which was caused by the Covid-19 pandemic has pushed Australia into recession.
The latest data shows the Australian economy contracted by point-3 of a per cent in the March quarter, and a worse result is expected next quarter.
Josh Frydenberg says measures to slow the spread of coronavirus have caused most problems, but bushfires and drought didn't help.
Even so, he has defended Australia's fiscal performance and compared it with other economies around the world.

Coronavirus fears in S. Korea shift back to churches amid new infections

Health authorities have linked nearly 50 new cases in the past four days to churches in the Seoul metro area. And around 100 cases have been linked to churches since the country eased social distancing measures a month ago.

Mumbai braces for Cyclone Nisarga

Mumbai is braced for Cyclone Nisarga, which is expected to make landfall on Wednesday and would be the first cyclone to hit India's financial capital in more than a century.

The storm comes just a couple of weeks after Cyclone Amphan (Pron: UM-PUN) hit the country's east coast and Bangladesh last month, claiming dozens of lives.

20,000 march in Paris for Black Lives Matter demonstration

Tens of thousands of people joined a demonstration in Paris for the second day running as part of the anti-racist Black Lives Matter movement.

Police used tear gas as violence broke out following an earlier peaceful march where the sister of a black man killed in France in police custody addressed the crowds.

Protests heating up outside the White House

Tensions are heating up outside the White House, with demonstrators saying President Trump's threats to use military force to restore law and order only prove the need to keep protests going.

Trump makes second religious site visit amid criticism

UK Foreign Sec Raab: UK has a “duty” to people of Hong Kong

The UK's Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab has again warned that if China passes its security law, Britain "won't look the other way."
