Reports Says China Deliberately Concealed Coronavirus Data

A damning report quoting White House officials claims China deliberately underreported the severity of the coronavirus outbreak, downplaying both the number of infections and deaths in the country.

The officials say that's according to classified US intelligence issued to the White House last week.

Indian doctors face a shortage of protective gear

India has exported 90 tons of medical supplies and safety gear to Serbia- a move that's being criticised at a time when the country is experiencing a huge shortage of supplies at home.

India has over 1600 coronavirus cases and the death toll has risen to 38.

Cruise ship stricken with Coronavirus heads for Florida

The fate of more than two thousand people on two cruise ships remains uncertain as they head towards the US state of Florida.

Four people have died and nearly 200 have been sick with suspected Covid 19 on one of the ships but so far no country has allowed them to disembark.

France working on strategies for how to exit national lockdown

The French government says it's looking into different scenarios for how to relax the coronavirus lockdown measures currently in place across the country.

The strict confinement protocols will be in place for another two weeks at least and ministers are worried about sparking a so-called 'second wave' of cases if measures are dropped all at once.

UK UNDER PRESSURE OVER TESTING

The UK government's under mounting pressure to test more people - particularly healthworkers - for Covid-19.

It admits it needs to go 'further, faster' on testing but says it is having trouble sourcing enough chemicals and equipment to ramp up numbers.

It's thought as many as a quarter of UK doctors are in self-isolation, but many of those could return to work if they could be tested and were found to be negative.
