European foreign ministers hold emergency talks in Brussels on Iran crisis

European foreign ministers will hold emergency talks on Iran crisis in Brussels today, following the US killing of the country's top general. 

The meeting will also be attended by the NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. 

The EU says it will spare no effort in trying to preserve the Iran nuclear deal.

MEGHAN FLIES TO CANADA

The Duchess of Sussex has flown to Canada after she and Prince Harry announced they would step down as senior Royals.

The Queen has asked officials to find a solution to the issue, after being surprised by the statement from the couple.

Harry and Meghan say they want to find a 'progressive' new role in the British monarchy and work towards financial independence.

India's Supreme Court says Kashmir restrictions 'unconstitutional'

India's highest court has ruled that an indefinite internet shutdown in place in Kashmir is unconstitutional.

Video shows Ukrainian plane being hit, as Trudeau claims Iranian missile caused its downing

The Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says there is evidence that the Ukrainian Airlines plane that crashed near Tehran airport was hit by an Iranian surface to air missile.


And The New York Times has now published video that appears to show a missile hitting the plane shortly after it takeoff - all 176 people on board died.

China confirms US visit next week

U.S. Officials Reportedly Believe Ukrainian Passenger Jet Shot Down By Iran

U.S. officials reportedly believe that the Ukrainian jetliner, which crashed Wednesday killing all 176 people onboard, was shot down by Iranian missiles.  U.S. satellites reportedly detected two surface-to-air missile launches, shortly before the plane went down.

US Intelligence: crashed Ukrainian Airlines plane struck by 2 Iranian missiles

US President Donald Trump has indicated that he believes a Ukrainian Airlines jet that crashed in Tehran in the early hours of Tuesday morning may have been mistakenly shot down by Iranian missiles.


All 176 people aboard the jet died in the crash, which the Iranians have blamed on a technical malfunction.

South African Plane Crash

A South African military plane crash-landed at an airport in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo with 59 UN peacekeepers onboard.

The US says it would take part in 'serious negotiations' with Iran 'without preconditions' to try and safeguard international peace.

Day of mourning in Ukraine following tragic plane crash in Iran

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky declared a day of national mourning on Thursday honouring the 176 victims of the plane crash in Iran on January 8. According to Iran's preliminary report the crew of the jetliner were trying to return to the airport shortly after take off and never made a radio call for help.
