Federal Judge Rules Former White House Counsel Must Testify

A US judge has ruled that President Donald Trump's former White House Counsel Donald McGahn must comply with a subpoena to testify to the House of Representatives in its impeachment  inquiry.

The House Judiciary Committee has been trying to force Donald McGahn to testify since April, about the President's attempts to obstruct the investigation into  Russian meddling in the 2016 US presidential election.

Priceless diamonds stolen in Germany

LVMH Bets It Can Restore Tiffany’s Shine With $16 Billion Deal


In an effort to restore some shine,  the world's biggest luxury goods company has bought the famed U.S.-based jeweller, Tiffany & Co, for more than $16 billion.  It is the largest luxury goods deal to date for LVMH and its billionaire owner, Bernard Arnault.  The conglomerate, which owns 75 brands, has created a mass market for luxury goods, and is valued at $220 billion dollars.

BRITISH LORRY DRIVER ADMITS PLOT FOLLOWING MIGRANT DEATHS

A British lorry driver accused over the deaths of 39 migrants has pleaded guilty to plotting to assist illegal immigration.

London's Transport Regulator Refuses to Grant Uber New Licence

London will not grant a new licence to ride hailing app Uber, after the body Transport for London found the services was not 'fit and proper'.


An independent review of Uber's systems discovered more than 14 thousand rides by unauthorised drivers in late 2018 and early 2019.


But Uber says it has made significant changes to its safety standards, as UK correspondent Natalie Powell reports.

France announces new measures to tackle domestic violence

AUSTRALIA: China attempted to plant an agent in Australian parliament according to a report

Australia's spy agency ASIO is folllowing up on reports that Chinese intelligence figures tried to plant one of their agents into the Australian Parliament.
The man at the heart of the claims, a luxury car dealer called Nick Zhao, was found dead in a Melbourne motel room in March this year after he had reportedly approached the agency.
