CROSS-PARTY TALKS TO AVOID 'NO DEAL' BREXIT

Opposition leaders in the UK are holding cross-party talks (on Tuesday) to discuss plans to avoid a 'no deal' Brexit.

The talks are being hosted by Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn who's suggested being a caretaker Prime Minister if Prime Minister Boris Johnson's government loses a vote of no confidence.

Labour believes a course of action should be agreed before Parliament returns from its summer recess next week.

Boris Johnson says the UK will leave the European Union on October 31st, even if no deal is in place.

Liberal Democrat leader Jo Swinson says she can't support Jeremy Corbyn's current proposal.
