US and Russian ships narrowly avoid collision

Two Russian and US warships narrowly avoided a collision in the Philippine Sea on Friday, with each side blaming each other for the near miss.

The US said the incident was as a result of an "unsafe and unprofessional" move by the Russian vessel, while Russia blamed the US cruiser for a sudden change of course.

Final preparations ahead of Women's World Cup opening match

India to ask taxi aggregators to go electric

India plans to order taxi aggregators like Uber and Ola to convert 40% of their fleet of cars to electric by April 2026, according to a Reuters report. A decision to this effect is expected soon.

Two years ago, the Indian government had set an ambitious target to electrify new cars and utility vehicles by 2030 but resistance from the industry forced it to scale back the plan.

Uganda Landslide Kills Six
