Uber shares drop on stock market debut

Ride-hailing app Uber has gone public on the New York Stock Exchange
with shares falling in early trading.

It struggled as global markets continued to drop over the US-China
trade dispute.

Royals Launch Mental Health Text Message Service

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (William and Kate) have teamed up with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex (Harry and Meghan) to launch a text message service for people experiencing mental health problems.


The 'Shout' service would offer cubical support, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and has been funded by their combined Royal Foundation.

Russia and Japan hold new round of peace talks

India's richest man buys iconic British toy retailer Hamleys

The world's oldest toy retailer is now owned by Mukesh Ambani, India's richest man.

McDonald's to temporarily close 169 India outlets following legal battle

McDonald's is closing more than 160 of its restaurants in India for two weeks following a legal battle with a former partner in the country.

US increases China tariffs

Uber prices shares at $45 for IPO, raising $8.1 billion


Uber has priced shares for its blockbuster IPO at $45, raising $8.1 billion.

The share price, though, was at the low end of its previously announced $44 to $50 range.

POLICE INVESTIGATING JOURNALIST MURDER ARREST FOUR MEN IN NORTHERN IRELAND

Police investigating the murder of journalist Lyra McKee in Northern Ireland have made four arrests under terrorism legislation.

EU COMMITTED TO IRAN DEAL

The EU says it is fully committed to the 2015 Nuclear Deal after Iran announced on Wednesday it would be pulling back on some of its commitments.

The UNHCR Warns of Possible Refugee Influx in to Uganda
