Pence to up pressure on Venezuela

US Vice President Mike Pence will offer new incentives to Venezuela's military to turn against President Nicolas Maduro on Tuesday, according to a report by Reuters news agency.

The Trump administration backed last week's protests in Venezuela led by opposition leader Juan Guaido which failed to oust President Nicholas Maduro.

US and Russia to meet over future of the Arctic

US State Department slams North Korea's human rights record after Trump backs Kim Jong Un


The US State Department says it's "gravely concerned" about North Korea's human rights record, just days after President Trump backed the country's leader Kim Jong Un.

His comments followed a short-range missile test by North Korea over the weekend.

Trump lawyer Cohen starts prison term

One million species at risk of extinction, says landmark UN report

One million animal and plant species - that's one in eight - are at risk of extinction, according to a report published on Monday by a global committee of scientists. 

The intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services, the UN's leading reasrch body on nature, is meeting in Paris to compile three years's worth of research.

NORTH MACEDONIA ELECTION

North Macedonia's, Stevo Pendarovski supported by the ruling Social Democrats, has won a run-off presidential vote.


The first round of voting two weeks ago saw Mr. Pendarovski and his rival Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova finish neck and neck.


In the this latest election on Sunday, Stevo Pendarovski won around 52 percent of the vote - compared to Gordana Siljanovska Davkova's 45 percent.

China Threatens to Walk Away from Planned Trade Talks This Week

Trump threatens to increase China tariffs

US economy adds 263,000 jobs
