Trump delays further tariffs on China after "substantial progress" in trade talks

President Donald Trump has announced that the US will delay imposing more tariffs on Chinese goods.

Mr Trump had threatened to raise duties from 10 per cent to 25 per cent from Friday.

But as Kate Fisher reports, he says "substantial progress" has been made in trade talks allowing further tariffs to be delayed.

R. Kelly charged with 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse

The R&B singer R. Kelly has been charged with ten counts of aggravated sexual abuse by prosecutors in Chicago.

The move comes after videotape emerged allegedly showing the R&B singer assaulting an underage girl.

India to block off excess water supply to Pakistan

The Indian government has said it is working on a plan to restrict the flow of excess water to Pakistan from its share of rivers.

Germany records 5th straight yearly budget surplus

S. Korean income gap marks record high last year

South Korea's income gap has shot up dramatically despite the government's efforts to increase wages for low earners.

The bottom 20 percent of earners made about 11-hundred dollars a month in the fourth quarter of 2018, down nearly 18 percent on-year.

Meanwhile, the top 20 percent earned nearly 83-hundred dollars a month, up more than ten percent on year.

Some analysts are blaming the growing income disparity on President Moon's minimum wage hike.

So far, his income-led growth strategy and tax hikes to boost the economy have been met with criticism.

But his government says the measures need time to yield positive results.

Youth unemployment is also at a 19-year high.

Some critics say Moon's economic promises have take a backseat to reconciliation efforts with North Korea.

U.S. to leave 200 troops in Syria

The White House says a small peacekeeping group of 200 troops will
remain in Syria after a U.S. withdrawal.

Chicago police say actor staged attack to advance his career

Chicago's police chief says the actor Jussie Smollett staged a racist
and homophobic attack to advance his career.

The Empire TV series star says two men put a noose around his neck
during the incident in late January.
