The United Nations has approved sanctions exemptions for humanitarian aid to North Korea. Provisions have been delayed over concerns of international sanctions violations against North Korea's nuclear program.

According to the UN, four organizations have been approved to send aid to North Korea.
Exemptions include the shipment of treatment for tuberculosis and malaria.
Computers, televisions and ambulances for hospital use were also approved.
The exemptions last for six months.
Humanitarian activity is not banned in North Korea, but materials used in aid missions could be subject to international sanctions.
The United States in particular has been criticized for slowing delivery while it reviewed exemption requests at the UN Security Council.
