France, Germany sign new 'friendship treaty'

The leaders of France and Germany have signed a new treaty designed to deepen cooperation between the two countries.

The treaty signing, held in the border town of Aachen [AAH KIN] comes as the European Union is grappling with both Brexit and a surge of nationalism on the continent.
