British MPs Debate Draft Brexit Proposals

In December, Theresa May cancelled a meaningful vote on the proposal to seek more assurances from the EU, as it looked like her deal would be voted down by lawmakers.

A new vote is expected to take place next week.

REPORTS: UK CONSIDERS ARTICLE 50 DELAY

It's reported British officials have begun 'putting out feelers' with the EU for a possible extension to Article 50 to delay Brexit.

It comes as the government continues to try and persuade Members of Parliament to back the Brexit deal it's agreed with Brussels, ahead of a vote due next week.

Prime Minister Theresa May hopes to announce further assurances from the EU about a backstop solution to the Irish border issue, before the vote.

The government insists it does not intend to seek an extension to Article 50 for more time for negotiations before the Brexit date of March 29th.

And preparations for a 'no deal' Brexit continue to be ramped up - but Ian Baxter of Baxter Freight says that would be a disaster for his industry.
