British lawmaker alleges Facebook did not disclose data collection by Russians

A British lawmaker has alleged that Facebook did not disclose a major data collection effort based in Russia.
In a hearing investigating use of personal data online, British Member of Parliament Damian Collins questioned Facebook's handling of knowledge that Russian computers were using the social media platform to collect billions of data points every day.

Google Accused of Abusing Location Tracking

Seven European consumer organisations are accusing Google of abusing tools that track users' locations. 

This is the Google's first challenge under Europe's strict new data protection rules.

Manfort lawyer makes no comment on claims Trump's campaign manager visited Assange

Lawyers for President Trump's former campaign manager Paul Manafort are refusing to comment on reports that he made several visits to Wikileaks founder Julian Assange at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London.


The reports come as Mr. Manafort faces fresh accusations that he lied to prosecutors even after striking a plea bargain with them.

Ukrainian sailors 'confess' to causing international crisis with Russia

Videos have emerged of Ukrainian sailors admitting to breaking international law by sailing into Russian territory. The sailors are being held by Russia's security services after the incident ended with Russia firing at and capturing Ukrainian ships. But as Dan Ashby reports, the confessions may change little.

Macron refuses to back down fuel taxes

French President Emmanuel Macron says he hears people's concerns about the cost of living - but he won't back down on fuel taxes. 

The president launched an ambitious plan to cut France's carbon emissions, after a planned rise in tax on diesel brought over a quarter of a million people onto the streets over the last week.

Merkel holds calls with Putin, Poroshenko
