Cabinet meet in crunch Brexit meeting


British Prime Minister Theresa May says the UK is significantly closer to delivering on the Brexit vote, as she faced MPs in the parliamentary chamber, ahead of crunch Cabinet meeting to pour over the details of a draft withdrawal agreement. 


Getting the Cabinet's backing with be crucial and is not a given as they meet Wednesday afternoon.  Leaks from the draft agreement have provoked angry responses from Brexiteers and members of the Democratic Unionist Party, or DUP, which props up Theresa May's government.

UK PM Defends Brexit Draft Deal at PMQs


UK Prime Minister Theresa May has defended the latest draft outline on a Brexit deal during Prime Ministers Questions.


It comes ahead of a crunch meeting with her cabinet to decide the fate of the agreement she has negotiated with the EU.


The Prime Minster says the draft brings the UK one step closer to delivering Brexit and avoiding a no-deal scenario.


But she is facing resistance from some of her MPs who are concerned about the new proposal.

Indian Prime Minister Modi meets Mike Pence in Singapore

US Vice President Mike Pence met with India's Prime Minister in Singapore at the sidelines of the East Asia Summit.

The meeting comes in the backdrop of the Trump administration giving India a temporary waiver to continue to import oil from Iran. However the American government is yet to give India a go-ahead for its defence deals with Russia.

WhatsApp sets-up research teams to look into Indian mob lynchings

Facebook-owned WhatsApp has announced that it is setting up 20 research teams worldwide- including experts from India- who will work towards understanding how misinformation spreads and what additional steps the platform needs to take to curb fake news.

Italy remains defiant on budget against EU demands

The Italian government says it would be committing economic suicide if it buckles to European Union pressure over its budget plan.
