Macron condemns nationalism in Armistice Day speech

Over 60 world leaders, including Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin have gathered in Paris to commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War.

President Emmanuel Macron led the ceremony at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, with a speech condemning nationalism.

Exit routes blocked as civilians try to flee Yemeni port city

The United Nations has expressed concern that civilians trying to

Macron and May hold joint WW1 commemoration

Korean pop icons BTS booted from Japanese TV show

A Japanese TV music program has canceled an appearance by world famous Korean pop idol group BTS (BEE-TEA-S).  South Korea and Japan's difficult history still often creates trouble between the neighbors... but not usually in the music world.

The trouble started with a shirt.


BTS member Jimin wore a shirt depicting the U.S. atomic bombing of Japan.


Some South Korean media report he wore it on the day Koreans celebrate liberation from Japan.


Another band member, RM, Tweeted about his pride for Korea's independence fighters.


TV Asahi hosts the show 'Music Station', and says the shirt and tweets caused a stir in Japan.


So it booted BTS.


Lately, South Korea and Japan's relations have grown more tense.


Just last month, a Seoul court ordered a Japanese company to compensate Koreans it forced into hard labor during the war.


Tokyo claims that dispute was settled long ago.

One person dead - two in hospital following attack in Melbourne

One person has been killed and two others hospitalised following an incident in Melbourne's CBD.
Police were called a little before 4:30 to the intersection of Bourke and Swanston Streets after a vehicle was set on fire.
Police were confronted by a knife wielding man, and he was shot in the chest.
Victoria Police Superintendent David Clayton has addressed the media.

Suspect in California bar mass shooting identified as US Marine Corps veteran


The suspect in a mass shooting in a packed bar in California has been identified as 28-year-old US Marine Corps veteran, Ian David Long.

Police say they found Mr Long dead inside the bar after arriving on the scene.
