California wildfires now largest on record

Two wildfires that have devastated an area almost the size of Los Angeles are now officially the largest in California history.


More than 14 thousand fire-fighters are battling the blazes.

Six found guilty of attempted people smuggling across English Channel

Russian PM warns against Georgia’s admission to NATO

Indian Parliament approves death penalty for rape of underage girls

Queensland drought additional relief announced

91 DEAD AFTER LOMBOK QUAKE


At least 91 people are now known to have died in an earthquake which hit the island of Lombok in Indonesia.

Hundreds of foreign tourists are being evacuated from nearby islands, thousands of buildings have been damaged.

The quake struck on Sunday with a magnitude of 6.9.

It comes just a week after another earthquake on Lombok which killed at least 16 people.

This man was having dinner in a restaurant in Lombok when the quake struck.
