North Korea urges the US to drop sanctions

North Korea has urged the US to drop sanctions just days after a confidential UN report concluded Pyongyang had not halted its nuclear missile programme.

Queensland drought additional relief announced

In Australia, the Queensland government is considering additional relief to drought-stricken farmers across the state but those options won't be finalised until State cabinet meets next week.

91 DEAD AFTER LOMBOK QUAKE


At least 91 people are now known to have died in an earthquake which hit the island of Lombok in Indonesia.

Hundreds of foreign tourists are being evacuated from nearby islands, thousands of buildings have been damaged.

The quake struck on Sunday with a magnitude of 6.9.

It comes just a week after another earthquake on Lombok which killed at least 16 people.

This man was having dinner in a restaurant in Lombok when the quake struck.

India plans to delay the imposition of retaliatory duties on US goods
