Stargazers around world prepare to watch longest "blood moon" eclipse of century


Stargazers in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and many other parts of the world are getting ready to watch the longest "blood moon" eclipse of this century.

The rare celestial event occurs when the earth passes between the sun and the moon, covering the moon with its shadow.

North Korea Returns Remains of US Soldiers


North Korea has returned the remains of some of the US soldiers who died during the Korean War.

It's the latest move since the two countries agreed to rebuild trust and work towards denuclearization.

A US military aircraft flew to the city of Wonsan to collect the skeletons, before returning to an American air base In South Korea.

U.S. and China clash at World Trade Organization

The United States has accused China of being the world's most
protectionist economy.

Trump administration fails to meet deadline for reuniting migrant families

US federal officials have failed to reunite over 700 migrant children with their parents.


A judge had set Thursday as the deadline for the over 2000 children removed from their parents and the border to be returned to their parents' custody.

Facebook makes history, loses 20% in value in a single day

Facebook has made history on the US financial markets, suffering the biggest one-day loss in value since record-keeping began.

UN chief condemns ISIL attacks in southwest Syria

The United Nations has strongly condemned Wednesday's terrorist attacks in the Syrian city of Sweida. 


Suicide bombers targeted an outdoor market and other areas, while carrying out deadly raids in nearby towns. 


Some 200 people were reportedly killed.

Australia's Fairfax Media will be taken over by TV giant Nine Entertainment in a takeover analysts fear will further reduce media diversity in Australia but which has the backing of the federal government.
