Indian godman found guilty for rape of underage girl

Asaram Bapu, a self-styled godman, has been convicted by an Indian court for raping a 16-year-old girl in 2013. The maximum punishment for raping underage girls in India is life imprisonment.

Ironically, he first shot to fame in the 1970s for teaching his followers how they should control their sexual desires. The 77-year-old guru claims to have 40 million followers globally.

WhatsApp Changing Age Rules in EU

The popular messing app WhatsApp will soon start banning people under 16 years old.

WhatsApp—which is owned by social media giant Facebook—says the change is to make sure everything is inline with tougher new EU data protection laws.

A man's in a critical condition in hospital after being attacked before Liverpool's Champions League semi-final against Roma.

Two men from Rome have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

UK LABOUR UNDER GROWING PRESSURE OVER ANTI-SEMITISM

Jewish leaders in the UK say the country's Labour Party is failing to act on anti-semitism, after a meeting with its leader Jeremy Corbyn.

Labour is promising it will settle most outstanding anti-semitism cases faced by the party by the end of July.

But Jewish leaders say talks with Jeremy Corbyn on Tuesday were 'disappointing' and that Labour has not presented a minimum plan of action on the issue.

Mr Corbyn has apologised for anti-semitisim inside Labour and insists he will root it out.

Trump and Macron discuss Iran deal

French President Emmanuel Macron says he's discussed "a new deal" on Iran with US President Donald Trump.

Amazon to begin deliveries to cars

Online retailer Amazon is to begin delivering packages to customers' cars.

UN wants coalition probe into Yemen strikes that killed at least 45 civilians in four days

Airstrikes in Yemen over the past four days — believed to have been carried out by the Saudi-led coalition — have killed at least 45 people, according to the United Nations.


The UN human rights office said those killed were reportedly all civilians, including women and children.

Man Charged After Van Driver Kills 10 in Toronto

A Canadian man has been charged with 10 counts of first-degree murder and 13 counts of attempted murder after driving onto a  sidewalk in Toronto on Monday.

Prominent Indian choreographer defends sexual harassment

10 dead after van attack in Toronto


Police in Canada are continuing to question a man who drove a van at pedestrians in the city of Toronto, killing 10 people and injuring 15 others.

WH: No plans to lift sanctions over North Korea

The White House says the U.S. will continue its campaign of maximum pressure against North Korea despite reports the regime is considering a path to denuclearisation.

Last week, Kim Jong Un announced his country would no longer test nuclear weapons and intercontinental ballistic missiles  - a move Trump described

The response from the Trump administration comes with plans underway for the U.S. President to meet his North Korea counterpart in the coming weeks.
