Russian deputy PM says international relations shouldn't depend on one person's mood

International relations should not depend on one person's mood according the Russia's deputy prime minister.

His comments are in response to recent tweets from Donald Trump in which the US president told Russia to "get ready" for american missile strikes in Syria.

Two Indian athletes sent home from Commonwealth Games for breach of no-needle policy

Two Indian athletes have been suspended from the Commonwealth Games after syringes were found in their apartment. 

This is the second violation by India's team of the 'no-needles policy at the Games.

India to push for death penalty for a minor's rape

Amid widespread outrage and anger over the rape and murder of an 8-year-old girl, the Indian government has said that it will push for the death penalty for those found guilty of raping children below 12-years of age.

According to Indian media reports, the minor was given sedatives and raped several times by different men over three days in January. Police documents say that she would have been killed sooner had one man not insisted on waiting so he could rape her a final time.

Trump considers rejoining TPP

Lawmakers say US President Donald Trump has asked his top trade officials to look into rejoining the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement, from which the U.S. withdrew last year.

Eleven Pacific Rim countries signed a revised sweeping trade agreement last month that came together after the U.S. pulled out.

UN condemns corpses left in Central African Republic clashes

The United Nations has condemned the protesters in the Central African Republic who left 17 corpses outside the UN building in the capital Bangui.

The group claim the UN killed them during a four-hour firefight with armed groups.

Trump confirms no decision taken yet on Syria reprisals

President Trump says no decision has yet been made about whether to take military reprisals against Syria for the alleged use of chemical weapons in the eastern city of Douma.

Russian Foreign Ministry says doesn’t want escalation of situation in Syria

OPCW backs findings of UK over spy nerve agent

The international chemical weapons watchdog, the OPCW says it's in agreement with the UK on its analysis of the type of nerve agent used to poison former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia. 

The  Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons did not name the nerve agent as Novichok, but issued a statement saying it had confirmed UK findings about the identity of the substance.  From London, Catherine Drew reports.

Yulia Skripal issues statement saying no one speaks for her

Yulia Skripal, who was poisoned with a nerve agent alongside her father, a former Russian spy, has issued a statement rejecting the help of the Russian embassy for the moment. 

The 33 year old has issued a statement saying her father remains seriously ill.   The UK has blamed Russia for the poisoning, something it has strenuously denied.

Rape and murder of 8-year-old girl sparks protests in India

In the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, the rape and murder of an 8-year-old Muslim girl has sparked off widespread protests along communal lines.

Hindu nationalists have been protesting in the town of Kathua where the crime took place, demanding justice for the accused. Eight people have been arrested for the rape and murder- they all belong to the Hindu community.
