Trump attorney takes responsibility for payment to adult entertainment star

Michael Cohen, U.S. President Donald Trump's personal attorney, now says he paid Stormy Daniels $130,000 out of his own pocket.

The original reports of payments to the adult entertainment star raised questions of misappropriation of campaign funds.

Aid trucks reach besieged Syrian suburb

The first aid trucks in almost three months have reached the Syrian rebel-held area of Eastern Ghouta.

Around 400,000 civilians are living in the besieged suburb of the capital Damascus.

Zuma refuses to resign

South Africa's President Jacob Zuma, who has been asked to resign by his African National Congress party says he doesn't have a reason to step down since the party has not given him any.


It comes as the Parliament is preparing to hold a vote of no-confidence motion against him Thursday.

British actress steps down as Oxfam ambassador amid claims of charity's sexual misconduct cover up

British actress, Minnie Driver has stepped down from her role as global ambassador for Oxfam, amid claims the charity concealed findings of sexual misconduct amongst staff. 

The disgraced charity faces losing its funding from the British government after reports that Oxfam aid workers in Haiti paid for sex from vulnerable people after the earthquake in 2011. Marnie Gill reports.

Johnson says the case for Brexit must continue to be made to bring along those sceptical of leaving the EU

British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson says the UK's departure from the EU is a cause for "hope not fear."   In a speech billed as an olive branch to the millions of Briton's who voted to remain part of the European block, Mr Johnson urged people to rally around an outward-looking and confident UK.


It's the first in a series of speeches by British Prime Minister Theresa May and senior ministers on what's being called the road to Brexit. 


Mr Johnson said now was not the time for Brexiteers to gloat, but to explain their arguments to those not on-board with Brexit.

A lie about a meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin has forced the Dutch foreign minister to resign.

Halbe Zijlstra (Prob: Hal-ba Zeil-Stra) said he once heard the Russian leader talking about creating a 'Greater Russia' but it's now clear he wasn't anywhere near Moscow when the comment is alleged to have been made.

Minnie Driver steps down as Oxfam ambassador amid scandal


British actress Minnie Driver has stepped down from her role as celebrity ambassador for Oxfam amid claims the charity concealed findings of wrongdoing by its staff while delivering aid to Haiti in 2011. 


The British charity is accused of covering up claims that Oxfam staff in Haiti and elsewhere paid vulnerable people for sex.   Oxfam has said it is grateful to Minnie Driver for her work and is committed to learning from its mistakes. 


The charity which delivers aid around the world and receives large payments from the UK government will be questioned by MPs in parliament next week. The Charity Commission has launched an inquiry.

'Chelsea Bomber' gets multiple life terms

A man who set off homemade bombs in New York and New Jersey has been
sentenced to multiple life sentences.

Ahmad Rahimi, nicknamed the Chelsea Bomber, has been given two life

UK football coach guilty of 36 charges of child sexual abuse

A jury in the British city of Liverpool has found former football coach Barry Bennell guilty of multiple offenses of historic child sex abuse against boys as young as 8.
