British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has described the resignation of Zimbabwe's Robert Mugabe as 'a moment of hope" for the country as it comes to terms with the departure of the long-term president.
British Prime Minister Theresa May also welcomed Mr Mugabe's resignation from the post he's held for 37 years, saying it was an opportunity to rebuild Zimbabwe's economy. She added as the country's oldest friend, the UK would work with regional partners to help Zimbabwe achieve the brighter future it deserves.
UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson described the former President's departure as a turning point that should pave the way for fresh elections.
