East-West divide still strong on German Unity Day holiday

Germany is commemorating the twenty seventh anniversary of the country's reunification with its annual Unity Day holiday.

However, recent elections show there are still major divisions between the former eastern and western parts of the country.

VEGAS POLICE TRY TO ESTABLISH SHOOTING MOTIVE

Police in Las Vegas are trying to work out what caused gunman Stephen Paddock to carry out a mass shooting which has left at least 59 people dead.

He fired on a crowd at a music festival from his Mandalay Bay Hotel room, before killing himself.

Over 500 people were injured.

The Islamic State group claimed responsibility but investigators say there is no evidence of a link to international terrorism.

Catalans Strike to Protest Police Violence

India asks Myanmar to take steps to prevent Rohingya exodus

At the United Nations Human Rights Council, India has urged the Myanmar security forces to take necessary steps to stop the exodus of Rohingya refugees.

Meanwhile, the Indian Supreme Court is hearing a plea challenging the government's decision to deport illegal Rohingya refugees. India has said it will deport 40,000 Rohingya refugees as they pose a threat to its national security.

Rock and Roll hall of fame star Petty dies aged 66

Rock and Roll hall of famer Tom Petty has died at the age of 66.

That's according to a spokesperson for the family.

He was found unconscious and in cardiac arrest at his home in

Vegas police dismiss rumours that Vegas shooter had help [CLIPS]

U.S. President Donald Trump has described the mass-shooting in Las
Vegas as an act of evil. At least 59 people have died in what is now
the deadliest mass-shooting in the country's history.


Police have identified 64-year-old Stephen Paddock as the gunman who
opened fire from the 32nd floor of a hotel onto a crowd of 22,000
people attending a country music festival.


Officials say Paddock took his own life and that they found a number
of weapons in the hotel suite.


No motive has been found but the Las Vegas Assistant Sheriff Todd
Fasulo says there's no evidence to suggest the gunman had help.

Family baffled, no motive for Las Vegas shooting

Family members do not know why Stephan Paddock rented a room and then fired hundreds of bullets at a country music festival on the Las Vegas strip.

At least 58 were killed and more than 515 injured, with the death toll expected to rise following the largest mass shooting in American history.

Eric Paddock told reporters gathered outside his home in Orlando Florida, he has absolutely no idea why his brother committed this atrocity.

Funding shortfall forces WFP to cut food rations at Kenya's Dadaab, Kakuma refugee camps

Pres. Trump confirms travel
