4 men in Madrid court over Barcelona terror attack

Four men accused of being involved in the terrorist cell which conducted the attacks in and around Barcelona last week have appeared in court in Madrid.

They're believed to be the only ones alive of the 12 thought to be responsible for the attacks.

India's Supreme Court strikes down instant verbal divorce

In a landmark win for the rights of women, India's top court has ruled that the practice of instant verbal divorce or triple talaq is unconstitutional.

US President vows to "fight to win" in Afghanistan, criticises Pakistan for "harbouring terror"

1 million bank employees on strike in India

Banking services in India have been hit with over 1 million employees of state run banks protesting today. The bank employees have called for a nation-wide strike.

India's 21 public sector banks control 75 per cent of the total business.

US Navy announces worldwide operational pause

The US Navy has announced a worldwide "operational pause" as it conducts a review following the collision of the USS John S. McCain with an oil tanker off the coast of Singapore.

This was the second such incident in the span of three months.

The US Navy said Monday it will be reviewing safety and training procedures to prevent these types of events from occurring again.
