Russia appoints new diplomat to replace scandal-tainted US Ambassador

Russia appointed new U.S. ambassador to replace its former diplomatic envoy to the U.S. Sergey Kislyak, one of the central figures in the U.S. investigation into Russia's meddling in last year's American elections.
The appointment of Anatoly Antonov, who previously served as deputy Foreign Minister and deputy Defense Minister, comes amid heightened
 tensions between Moscow and Washington.
