North Korea releases detained Canadian pastor

North Korea has freed a Canadian pastor who had been serving a life sentence of hard labor since 2015, on accusations of having attempted to overthrow the government.

This comes as tension has ratcheted up on the Korean peninsula, with the US President threatening North Korea with "fire and fury" and Pyongyang threatening an attack on Guam.

FBI arrests American man after alleged online blackmail scam of young girls

Venezuela: New Constituent Assembly declares itself above other branches of government

Venezuela's newly elected Constituent Assembly has declared itself superior to all other branches of government.   

The Constituent Assembly also passed a new law creating a "Truth comission", allegedly aimed at investigating acts of violence carried out with political intentions.

El Chapo hires mafia lawyers

The Mexican drug kingpin Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman has hired a team of top US lawyers, including two attorneys who represented the son of New York mafia boss John Gotti.

Guzman is due to be tried in an America court next year accused of heading up the Sinaloa cartel.

India's Defence Minister says its Army is ready to face any challenge

Hours after China's Foreign Ministry warned India that its Army could enter Indian border states of Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand, India's Defence Minister has said that India will respond to any and all border challenges.

This comes a week after India's Foreign Minister claimed that war with China was not the solution and that India wanted to resolve the issue diplomatically.

India and China have both been engaged at a stalemate at Doklam. China and Bhutan both claim the area as their own, India alleges it has intervened on behalf of its close ally and neighbour Bhutan.

UK gang charged with abusing young girls

18 people have been found guilty by a court in the North of England of abusing young girls.


The charges included rape, supplying drugs and alcohol to underage victims.

It's been revealed that the FBI launched a dawn raid on the home of President Donald Trump's former campaign manager last month.

French security officials have shot and arrested a man they believe to be behind Wednesday morning's attack in a Paris suburb.

Six French soldiers are still recovering from injuries after the attacker used a car to plow into them.

New plan to introduce lynx to Scotland

A charity working to reintroduce the lynx to the UK have submitted plans to bring the wildcats to settle on land just thirty miles from the Scottish city of Glasgow.
