752 fall ill and 2 dead from food poisoning at Iraqi refugee camp

INTRO:
Two have died and hundreds have fallen ill after a food poisoning
outbreak in a camp for displaced persons near Mosul, Iraq.

The United Nations refugee agency that runs the camp along with a
dozen other sites has called the incident a tragedy.

Suspected North Korean drone found with photos of US Thaad anti-missile site

A suspected North Korean drone reportedly photographed an American US Thaad anti-missile site in South Korea, before crashing near the border between both countries.


A South Korean official told news agencies the drone took about ten photos.

Full independence for Robert Mueller - US Deputy AG

The U.S. Deputy Attorney General is telling the Senate Appropriations Committee that special counsel Robert Mueller has full independence to carry out his investigation and he sees no reason to fire him.

NewsMax CEO Chris Ruddy told the PBS NewsHour that President Trump is weighing firing Robert Mueller, a claim he continues to stand by as a friend of the president.

U.S. Officials arrest Panama's former president

May and Corbyn back in parliament after surprise election results

Britain's political leaders have returned to the parliament, even while the Conservative party remain in talks with Northern Ireland's DUP to agree a deal that will support a minority government. 

DUP leader Arlene Foster told reporters she hoped a deal could be reached soon as she left talks in Downing Street.  Meanwhile Prime Minister Theresa May was back in Parliament to welcome new members.     It comes as she has faced fierce criticism from senior members of her Conservative party after an unexpectedly poor performance in last week's general election.

Top Republican warns Trump not to fire Special Prosecutor investigating Russia ties

Top Republicans are warning President Trump not to try and fire the Special Prosecutor who is investigating possible ties between the Trump campaign last year and the Russians.


Close associates of Mr. Trump say that he's getting frustrated by Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller who was appointed by the Justice Department to take over the FBI investigation into the President's team.


Congressman Paul Ryan is the Republican Speaker of the House of Representatives, and he offered this advice to President Trump.

UK Government deal with DUP expected by Thursday

Let the investigation proceed - Speaker Ryan

Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Paul Ryan wants the White House to leave special counsel Robert Mueller alone to do his work.

In an interview with the PBS NewsHour, NewsMax CEO Chris Ruddy said his friend U.S. President Donald Trump is considering firing Mr. Mueller.

White House spokesman Sean Spicer only said that the President and his attorneys are the only people authorized to address issues tied to the investigation into Russian meddling in American politics.

Following a meeting of the Republican caucus on Capitol Hill, Speaker Ryan said he feels Robert Mueller should be left alone.

US student freed from 15 year sentence in North Korea, reportedly in coma "for past year"

North Korea has freed an American student who was serving a 15 year sentence in one of the country's labour camps.


There are reports that Otto Warmbier, who is now being flown home to Cincinnati, is in a coma.

US STATE DEPT: North Korea release American student


North Korea has released an American student who was serving a 15-year prison term, according to the US Secretary of State 

In a statement Rex Tillerson said Otto Warmbier was returning to the US to be reunited with his family.

The Washington Post is reporting the 22-year-old has been in a coma for more than a year.

The senior vice-president of ride-hailing service, Uber, Emil Michael, has left the company following a recommendation by former US Attorney-General Eric Holder.

US Air Force grounds more than fifty F-35 fighter jets over oxygen supply fault


The US Air Force is grounding a fleet of F-35 fighter jets after problems with pilots' oxygen supply.

The decision comes after pilots at an air base in Arizona reported symptoms of oxygen deprivation.

EU to sanction Eastern European countries for refusing to accept refugees

The European Commission is expected to launch infringement proceedings this week against Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic, for refusing to accept any refugees under the EU's relocation scheme. 
In summer 2015 EU member countries agreed to relocate 160,000 refugees across the bloc, and the decision is legally binding.
