Pres. Trump wasn't aware of source of intelligence - McMaster

National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster told reporters that President Trump didn't even know the source of the intelligence he shared with the Russians.

U.S. President Donald Trump appears to have confirmed what was earlier denied, that it was within his purview to share intelligence with Russian officials.

The American president has been broadly criticized for sharing intelligence from a third party country with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster says the president wasn't briefed on the details and then left the briefing room quickly.

WH denies reports Pres. Trump shared highly classified intel with Russians

The White House is denying claims that Donald Trump shared classified intelligence with senior Russian offials during a meeting in the Oval Office last week.

According to the Washington Post US officials say the US President began disclosing details about an Islamic State terror threat related to the use of laptop computers on aircraft to both the Russian Foreign Minister and the Russian Ambassador to the US.

The report adds that the US ally behind the intel source had not not given the US a green light to share the highly sensitive information.

The Trump administration is knocking down the story saying it's false.

The US Secretary of State released a statement saying no 'methods or sources' were revealed but stopped short of saying no classified information has been shared with Sergey Lavrov and Ambassador Kysliak.

A similar rejection of the story was given by Trump's National Security Adviser HR McMaster when he addressed reporters outside the White House....
