President of the European Council Donald Tusk is being called as a witness in court in the case of the 2010 plane crash which killed the then Polish president.
Lech Kaczynski (leck ka-zin-ski) and 95 others on board died when their plane came down near Smolensk in Russia.
But some believe the summons is a political move as our Europe correspondent Jack Parrock reports.
