Russia's Putin to meet Abu Dhabi Crown Prince

The Trump administration has confirmed that Iran is in full compliance with the JCPOA, the agreement on Iran's nuclear program.

But, U.S. Secretary of Rex Tillerson says the deal is inadequate, and all deals with Iran must be reviewed.

Trump administration wants new footing for North Korea talks

The Trump administration wants to find new footing for talks with North Korea, just as Pyongyang shows a film of an American city destroyed in a missile barrage as part of the celebrations of founder Kim Il Sung.

The Trump administration has also been criticized for claiming the U.S. Navy's Carl Vinson strike group was steaming toward the Korean peninsula when it was actually en route to the Indian Ocean.

Concern about protectionism emerging at IMF, World Bank meetings

The economists and analysts of the International Monetary Fund are increasingly concerned about the emerging strains of protectionism around the world.

The Global Financial Stability Report finds stock markets and corporate finances in decent shape, while the Fiscal Monitor urged prudent focus on debt management.

White House defends Trump claim over warship that wasn't sailing to Korea

The White House is defending President Trump's claim that a US Navy warship was heading to the Korean peninsula when, in fact, it was heading in the opposite direction.

Theresa May "won't participate" in UK election's TV debates

British Prime Minister Theresa May says she won't participate in any television debates featuring the leaders of other political parties in the country's election campaign.

The decision is being widely criticized, with the leader of one opposition party urging broadcasters to show an empty chair in place of Mrs. May during any TV debates that occur.

Lord Michael Grade is a former top BBC and ITV executive, and he's urging Britain's broadcasters not to take that step.

Pence warns of "overwhelming" response to any North Korean aggression

Nuclear tensions continue to increase between the US and North Korea, with American Vice President Mike Pence threatening an overwhelming response if North Korea attacks any of its neighbours.

Ecuador confirms Lenin Moreno as the country's next president

Ecuador's electoral council has confirmed that current vice president Lenin Moreno has won the country's presidential elections, after recounting almost 1.3 million votes. 

Following the recount, Mr Moreno increased his lead over his conservative opponent by 0.01 percent.

Campaigning begins in UK election

Campaigning has begun in Britain's general election which will take place on June 8th. 

British MPs passed a motion on Wednesday, paving the way for the snap ballot after Prime Minister Theresa May reversed course and decided to go to the polls. 

She's looking to increase her parliamentary majority ahead of complex Brexit negotiations with European Union leaders, while also keeping the anti-Europe wing of her party in line. 

However Mrs May is facing criticism for refusing to take part in televised debates for party leaders, saying she will travel up and down the country talking to communities. 

In her first campaign appearance, Theresa May appealed for voter support ahead of the Brexit talks.

White House Press Secretary: No misleading statements on US carrier group


White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer on Wednesday denied he made misleading statements about a US Navy carrier group heading towards North Korea.

Last week...US President Donald Trump declared an armada was on its way to the Sea of Japan.

But the ships were actually sailing in the opposite direction to take part in joint exercises with the Australian Navy in the Indian Ocean.

The group is now expected to arrive in the Sea of Japan next week.

Fox News allegedly looking for Bill O'Reilly replacement

Fox News is planning to dismiss its top host Bill O'Reilly, according
to US media reports.

This comes after the New York Times discovered O'Reilly and Fox had
paid $13 million dollars to settle multiple lawsuits that accused him
of sexual harassment.

UN threatens ICC action against DRC

The United Nations has threatened an International Criminal Court
investigation following the discovery of more mass graves in the
Democratic Republic of Congo.

IMF warns Trump's proposed tax cuts, financial deregulation may lead to too much risk

The International Monetary Fund warned Wednesday that US President Donald Trump's plans to cut corporate taxes and ease financial regulations could result in undesirable levels of risk-taking.

In its Global Financial Stability Report, the IMF said Trump's proposals could lead to the type of risk-taking that led to the 2008 financial crisis and battered global markets.

Blaming Trump administration's measures, Emirates cuts flights to US

Emirates, the Middle East's biggest airline, is reducing its service to the United States because of "weakened travel demand" caused by President Trump's policies.


The airline says the Trump administration's threats to ban travelers from some countries coupled with fresh restrictions on the electronics that passengers can bring aboard flights means that fewer people are seeking to travel to the US.
