Trump refuses to answer questions about Russia & Michael Flynn

U.S. President Donald Trump refused to answer questions about his former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and whether he had inappropriate contact with the Russians, possibly violating the Logan Act.

The New York Times has reported that multiple Trump associates were in regular contact with Russian officials.

The departure of Michael Flynn has led the head of U.S. Special Operations Forces, General Tony Thomas to say that he feels the Trump administration is in unbelieveable turmoil and he wants the government to be as stable as possible.

U.S. President Donald Trump is spreading blame far and wide.

At press conference with Netanyahu, Trump avoids questions on Russia, endorses possible "1-state" Mid-East solution

US President Donald Trump says the National Security Adviser he fired earlier this week was treated "very very unfairly" by the media.

At a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the President deliberately took questions from reporters representing only loyal pro-Trump media outlets.

He indicated he's willing to set aside America's commitment to a 2-state solution in the Middle East, but urged the Israeli leader to halt settlement activity, at least temporarily.

Trump, Netanyahu fail to commit to 2-state solution

U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjanmin Netanyahu failed to commit to a two-state solution for the Israelis and Palestinians.

Earlier, according to the Associated Press reports,  Palestinian officials expressed concern to CIA Director Mike Pompeo that somehow a two-state solution was optional during a secret meeting.

President Trump says he's happy with whatever the parties can work out, but did not endorse a two state solution.

California residents near Oroville Dam return after evacuation but area could still flood

INTRO:
Authorities in California are allowing people who live near the
Oroville Dam to return to their homes after water levels have dropped
in the nearby lake.

Nearly 200,000 people left the area after heavy rains caused water to
pour down the emergency spillway, which already had a hole in it.

As Laura Cantekin reports, officials were concerned the spillway would
fail and flood the area, and repairs are now ongoing.

Trump claims he's focused on jobs

U.S. President Donald Trump claims he's focussed on his economic agenda, as he insists any idea of turmoil in his administration is the fault of leaks to the media.

But from the U.S. Congress to the Pentagon, lawmakers and military officers are speaking openly of dysfunction and even unbelievable turmoil.

While Federal Reserve chair Janet Yellen told a Congressional Committee that economic growth is quite disappointing, U.S. President Donald Trump painted a much rosier picture for a group of retail executives.

HATE CRIME SPIKES AFTER EU VOTE

Hate crime surged in the UK after the EU referendum, according to the latest figures.

Data suggests most police forces in England and Wales saw record levels of hate crime between July and September last year.

Over 14 000 were recorded in that period.

Police monitoring suggests hate crime incidents have levelled out again after the initial spike.

But Mike Ainsworth of Stop Hate UK says it's important that witnesses continue to report what they see.
