Turkey warns Germany over asylum requests

The Turkish government reacted harshly to media reports that around forty Turkish military personnel had applied for asylum in Germany after last summer's failed coup attempt.

The news comes on the heels of Greece's refusal to extradite eight Turkish soldiers.

TRUMP STANDS FIRM ON IMMIGRATION MOVE

Donald Trump's administration is refusing to back down over restrictions on immigration from seven countries - denying it is a Muslim ban.

President Trump has issued a statement saying visas can start being issued again when 'the most secure policies' have been put in place.

His executive order, signed on Friday, halts the US refugee programme for 120 days and suspends entry for nationals from seven Muslim-majority countries.

Three Ukrainians killed in weekend clashes

Ukrainian officials have announced that three soldiers died Sunday in
an attack by Russian-backed separatists in the east of the country.

US President Donald Trump is defending the immigration restrictions that have sparked protests across the United States, and legal action from civil liberties groups and 16 American states.


He's denied that his executive order shutting the country' s border to citizens of seven predominantly Islamic countries represents a "Muslim ban".


And he's hit out at the media, and critics from within his own Republican party, as our Washington Correspondent Simon Marks reports.

Thousands march against abortion in Washington

Tens of thousands marched throught the streets of the American capital in support of ending the right to abortion in the United States.

In 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court found bans on abortion unconstitutional, in the landmark case, Roe. vs. Wade.

For this march, in a change from previous Republican and Democratic admininistrations, both Vice President Mike Pence and senior Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway addressed the crowd.

May and Trump 'committed to NATO', but divided on Russia

America's relationship with Britain has never been stronger- that's according to U.S. President Donald Trump, meeting with his British counterpart Theresa May for wide-ranging talks at the White House.

The two leaders insisted they had reinvigorated the ' special relationship'. 

Theresa May said President Trump had re-committed to NATO, but hinted at differences on Russia.

She is the first foreign leader to meet President Trump, since he took office a week ago.
