German interior ministry suggests returning migrants at sea to Africa

Germany's interior ministry suggested returning migrants rescued in the Mediterranean Sea to Africa, drawing immediate criticism from opposition parties.

HSBC PROFIT DIVES

Profits have fallen sharply at British bank HSBC after costs incurred selling its Brazilian unit.

Third quarter pre-tax profit was $843m - down from $6.1bn a year ago.

Moscow denies HRW's war crime accusations

UK PRISON RIOT 'RESOLVED'

A major riot at a British prison has now been 'successfully resolved' according to the Prison Service.

The disturbance is thought to have involved over 200 inmates and it required police and specially-trained guards being called in.

HMP Bedford was the subject of a recent report which claimed it was easier to get hold of drugs in the prison than clothes or bedding.

Trump Blames FBI 'Rigged System' For Closure of Clinton Email Case

US Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump is blaming what he calls the 'rigged system' for the FBI's decision to end the investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails.

It comes after the bureau's director announced on Sunday that, following a review of thousands of new emails that recently came to light, it found no evidence of any criminal wrongdoing.

FBI: No Clinton Charges After Searching New Batch of Emails

The FBI Director has told the US Congress that the agency hasn't changed its conclusions from earlier this year, that there is no case to bring against Hillary Clinton for her handling of private email.
